Pull ups are NOT very good for potty training, they are for parents who are too lazy to take their kids to the bathroom. Potty training does not include using diapers. That is what these are is fancy diapers. If you want to potty train your kids put them in real underwear or training pants with a plastic cover on them. The wetness liner is a joke. These also give kids the impression that if they do not want to go to the bathroom they can just go in their pants.

When I gave birth I had already bought packages of newborn huggies. They were horrible. I thought once my boys got older that maybe huggies would work then. NOPE. I’ve tried Huggies Supreme and the cheap huggies. They are both made horribly and after your child goes in them once they sag so bad you have to go change them. I thought since everyone always talks about pull-ups that they would work once potty training time came around. WRONG AGAIN. They leaked evertime he wore them. Do not waste you money. I always ended up going back to the pampers swaddlers, cruisers, and training pants. Pampers are the best.

I like these because the sides pull apart – makes it easy to remove them without taking off pants and shoes. However, the quality of the last few packs I’ve received have been very poor. The blue sealing strip has been coming off and today the sides just ripped as my child stepped into them. I’ve been throwing away 2-5 damaged pull-ups per pack, and although I did like these, I’m not buying them again.

Although I liked these, they are not quite as soft as the pampers pull-ups. With Huggies you do get more for the money, but they were a little less absorbent than Pampers. A good second choice.

Once I finally got serious about potty training I realized the basic logistical issues I was dealing with.

I started with pampers pull-ups which I loved at the time. They were great for teaching my son how to pull up and down his underwear. That’s all I was concentrating on, and the product worked well. Very comfortable, no leaking. They are very close to cloth-like underwear.

Then I got serious about potty training and my needs changed. I wasn’t worried about leaks and comfort as much as I was with ease of use.

Huggies are easy to pull up and down, and are fairly absorbant as diapers, though not extremely so (not as much as the pampers). They are a little scratchier than the pampers, though my son doesn’t seem to care. The open and close tabs on the sides are very useful. I would think we had a poop accident and lay my son down, and open up the sides, and realize that he just smelled like he’d pooped. It was nice not to waste the clean diaper. In addition, when he did accidentally poop, I was able to lay him down on his back and wipe him up, and the easy access sides were great then as well.

I didn’t really need the cool alert feature at this point, and we moved straight into underwear, EXCEPT

Using the potty in the middle of the night. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time waking up and racing my son into the potty to get him to go in the nick of time. The cool alert wakes him up just enough to go running to the bathroom and give me time to groggily head over there. I expect he’ll be in this “nighttime” underwear as we call it for another month or two, only because he still forgets once every couple of weeks or so, and I’d rather deal with a diaper than clean the sheets in the middle of the night.

As for the disappearing images… he never noticed and neither did I. That feature may be useful for other people, but not for us.
